  1. Good article. Balanced and sensible. In the past year, I changed from a die hard (ignorant) AGW believer to a die hard AGW denier. I have read over 150 articles and papers on Global Warming. In addition, I have done my own research. I now believe that CO2 at only .0387% of the atmosphere, even if doubled, would have virtually no impact on the earth's climate. And furthermore, I believe that doubling CO2 could actually help mankind grow a lot more food. As can be seen at the following URL, I am not alone in this belief..

On one point, I did my own research. This research can be easily verified since it is not that difficult to do. I simply went to the US EIA site and downloaded information on global CO2 production. The EIA provides both historic data and forecasts though 2030 for the world and America. The historic data can be used to cross reference the what one giga tonne of man made CO2 converts to in terms of the atmospheric concentration of CO2 in ppm over rolling 10 year periods of time. This exercise makes it clear that since 1960, in rolling 10 year time periods, 1 G-Ton of man made CO2, on average, has resulted in an increase in atmospheric CO2 between .073 ppm and .081 ppm per G-Tonne of CO2 produced.

Also, based on the EIA projection, between 2010 and 2030 the burning of fossil fuels throughout the world will produce 770 G-Tonnes of CO2 at an avg annual rate of 36.7 G-Tonnes per year during that period of time. This is with no USA Cap and Trade Policy. And, if the USA adopts the proposed Cap and Trade plan of reducing CO2 annual production by 42% by 2030, the cumulative reduction from 2010 to 2030 as a result of America's Cap and Trade would be about 30.1 G Tonnes. This would impact atmospheric CO2 concentration by only 2.2 to 2.4 ppm. So with Cap and Trade by 2030 atmospheric CO2 would around 444 ppm, and without Cap and Trade in the US CO2 production would be 446.3 ppm. What does 2.3 ppm equal in temperature wise? CO2 accounts for about 5% of the greenhouse gas impact on global warming which is now considered to be 33 deg.C. So, if 387 ppm of CO2 yields 1.65 deg C, “AT MOST”, 2.4 PPM of CO2 would account for .01 deg C. What is really frightening here is that over half of our congress is apparently stupid enough to think that it makes sense to spend at least $3 trillion to reduce global warming by, AT MOST, .01 deg C. This has to be the dumbest political idea of all time!
