'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'
A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government.
In the midst of his story he looked at th e professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in The last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.
Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.. While we continually lose our freedoms -- just a little at a time.
One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch!
Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.
Also, if you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!
Keep your eyes on the newly elected politicians who are about to slam the gate on America .

Ten Years Later: Confessions of a 9/11 Conservative (aka Former Liberal) – Patriot Update
All my friends know me as a very strong (and somewhat opinionated) Conservative. They know of my work on campaigns, have read my political articles and have seen my videos on Patriot Update.
But the inconvenient truth is that, like Dennis Miller, I’m what’s known as a “9/11 Conservative” and unfortunately it took a major tragedy to get me where I am today.

Wal-Mart vs. The Morons
1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.
2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!
3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.
4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.
5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.
6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.
7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.
8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.
9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.
10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.
11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)
12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.
You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.
This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!
To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature. It is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:
A. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.
b. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
C. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.
D. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.
E. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.
F. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.
G. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars, and you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?

Pentagon Orders Marines to Stop Farting » Right Pundits
This is one of those crazy stories that is so bizarre it must be true! The Pentagon apparently has ordered Marines to stop farting in Afghanistan! Yes, you read-heard it right. According to the Marine Corps Times, which was picked up by theblog, Battle Rattle, it would seem that Afghan soldiers working in close proximity with our beloved Marines do not appreciate our troops farting near them. So, the Pentagon is banning any and all audible farts by Marines when Afghan soldiers are downwind. This cultural divide offends the Afghans. Obviously they have never watched ′Blazing Saddles′ or a ′South Park′ episode featuring the Canadian team of Terence and Phillip.
We all know that some cultures have there own peculiarities. Many consider belching after a hardy meal as a sign of approval and appreciation. Some even consider farting after a good meal a positive act for the same reason. Among American males, especially younger ones, a nice loud fart is something to be proud of. After all, we all know that it is the silent ones that really stink. A good loud fart is generally not a bad thing. But I suppose we are guests in Afghanistan and we should respect their customs.
If this story doesn′t raise a stink, perhaps the one at Texas GOP Vote on Obama′s so-called ′listening tour′ will have you cooking on gas? At Outside The Beltway, they have an interesting piece about how the Obama administration is putting pressure on NY State prosecutors to drop mortgage fraud investigations. According to the Conservative Feminist, Obama′s vacation on Martha′s Vineyards has led to a surge in sales of George W. Bush ′Miss Me Yet?′ T-shirts. Red State has a legislative scorecard by the Heritage Foundation rating the Tea Party Congress thus far.
Over at The Pirate′s Cove, they analyze Mitt Romney′s latest revision on his views about man-made climate change. AtSister Toldjah they look at how Greece intends to ban Islamic, Sharia Law. Speaking of religion, Michelle Malkin looks at how the New York Times wants to ask GOP candidates toughre questions about their faith. Finally, at Althouse we have a wrap up of how there will be no criminal charges against Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser over allegations that he put a choke hold on Justice Anne Walsh Bradley.
Glad they cleared the air on that one! Now we have a story about the Pentagon trying to clear the air in Afghanistan as it orders Marines to stop farting near Afghan soldiers. I′m sorry, but if it comes down to facing a fart or a bullet or an I.E.D., I′d take a stinky fart any day of the week. Being out in the field, ten thousand miles from home and loved ones, eating those crummy MREs is enough to make anybody lose some control over their bodily functions. While I agree that we should respect their culture foibles, I just do not see how anybody, even Chesty Puller himself, could possibly prevent a Marine from farting just because some Afghan soldiers are nearby. I think we should send our troops plenty of whoopee cushions and let the Afghan soldiers learn the great fun they are missing out on.
Brave Obama To Rid World of the Dangerous… Guitars? » Right Pundits
You know, I am so glad that we have a President Obama, a president with enough backbone to make the world safe from evil… uh… guitars. Yes, that’s right, President Obama has sent his envirostormtroopers on a nation-wide hunt for evil guitars whether they are 100-year-old pickers or strummers still in the earliest stages of manufacture. That’s right, Obama is on a campaign to abort guitars in the womb!
He’s sooooo brave.
The latest in Obama’s anti-musical crusade is occurring in Memphis, Tennessee at the Gibson guitar plant where Obama’s stormtroopers have knocked down doors and quashed production of new guitars because… well, because there is wood in them. Illegal wood, at that.
The federal government hasn’t really said exactly why they are harassing Gibson Guitars (again, as they’ve done this before) but the presumption is that the feds think Gibson is using wood from outlawed sources like ebony wood from Madagascar. The evidence is that the feds did confiscate various bits of wood from the Gibson plant. For its part, Gibson says it has proof that all its wood is made from a, “Forest Stewardship Council certified supplier.”
But this campaign isn’t just making Gibson “fret,” if you will. The feds are also hinting that all guitars with now outlawedwoods are apt for confiscation by the federal government. Yes, even guitars that were made decades ago, even antiques or older pieces that have been played by musicians for decades can be scooped up by the thugs in government.
Only an out of control government would make musicians afraid that their antique instruments would be confiscated by jackbooted members of Big Brother Obama’s stormtroopers! This is patently absurd.
I have no problem with making rules to protect truly endangered resources, provided that they really are endangered. I’ll not speculate about the ebony wood as I haven’t a clue of its status. But to confiscate things made of this wood that are already done and made decades ago? It is idiotic. Stupid. Simply an exercise in Obama’s authoritarianism.
Further more, confiscating antiques to satisfy a modern need to husband resources is not even logical. First off all, many of these instruments (or anything made from this wood or other protected raw materials) were made in the days when this resource was not endangered at all. So, confiscating and destroying antiques is a meaningless gesture.
Secondly, once something is made of the wood, it is too late to save the raw material! Duh!
If this wood is truly endangered and your nation wants to prevent new manufacturing using this material, then, sure, do that. Stop the importation, stop the use. It’s fine. But leave antiques alone you dolts. You are doing nothing for the trees, nothing for environmentalism, nothing useful to attack antiques.
All this is, is one more way for Herr Obama to use his power to intimidate the people with his police agencies. This manis an authoritarian nightmare and his extremist actions really do prove that we need to be gutting government power, not making it grow.

Western Unrest and the Failure of Social Engineering
-By Frank Salvato
While the world mainstream media is focused on the unrest that has plagued Great Britain, they are delinquent in reporting on societal unrest elsewhere in the Western world. In Chile, tens of thousands of students staged violent protests, demanding changes in government-funded public education. In Philadelphia, a rash of “flash mob” incidents has forced that city’s mayor to impose curfews for teenagers in several neighborhoods. And in Milwaukee, authorities are investigating a string of mob-like actions involving large groups of predominantly black teenagers near the Wisconsin State Fair, leading one City Alderman to attributing the violence as a sign of “deteriorating African American culture in our city.”
In all of these instances – from London to Milwaukee, Santiago to Philadelphia, one common factor exists: Young people, who have been endowed with a falsely elevated sense of self-esteem, are narcissistically demanding more from a grossly over-extended government entitlement system instituted by Progressives to create a dependent populace. Why would anyone want to create such an unstable and dangerous societal atmosphere? Power.
In its detailed examination of Progressivism,DiscoverTheNetworks.org, states:
“In the progressive worldview, the proper role of government was not to confine itself to regulating a limited range of human activities as the Founders had stipulated, but rather to inject itself into whatever realms the times seemed to demand. The progressives reasoned that although America’s Founders had felt it necessary to limit the power of government because of their experience with King George III, government, as a result of historical evolution, was no longer the menace it once had been; rather, they believed government had become capable of solving an ever-greater array of societal problems — problems the Founders could never have envisioned. Consequently, the progressives called for a more activist government whose regulation of people’s lives was properly determined not by the outdated words of an anachronistic Constitution, but by whatever the American people seemed to need at any given time…
“As its name indicates, progressivism suggests movement toward a goal – in this case, bigger government and increased state control. But it is a gradual, incremental movement rather than a sudden transformation. Progressives endorse evolution (rather than revolution), a process by which society drifts gradually but inexorably toward statism.
“To facilitate this evolution, progressives have sought, ever since their entry into the pages of American history, to infiltrate society’s power structure and its key institutions – the schools, the media, the churches, the entertainment industry, the labor unions, and the three branches of government…”
We can see the intervening hand of Progressivism at the root cause of the civil unrest in Britain, Chile and the United States.
To focus on just one avenue that the Progressive movement has been successful in traveling, they have, for over a generation now, maintained a stranglehold on the American education system. Regardless of the fact that every school district is set up to be locally controlled, for reasons meant to benefit the immediate community, labor unions and special interest groups – enabled by over-reaching state and federal governments – have wrestled control of not only the classroom from locally elected school board authority, but curriculum as well. Today, instead of teaching critical thinking skills so that our children learn how to think; so that they learn how to educate themselves for their lives, Progressives have instituted an education system that teaches our children what to think. Putting it bluntly, they have instituted a system of education that indoctrinates our children into a Progressive line of thinking.
Again from DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
“In 1913, the Progressive historian Charles Beard published “An Economic Interpretation of the Constitution of the United States,” which offered a Marxist view of history…It portrayed America’s Founding Fathers as basically selfish men who had established a form of government that they thought would benefit them, and only them, financially. From Beard’s premise, it was a short logical leap to discredit the Constitution itself as ‘essentially an economic document’ unworthy of the lasting reverence of legislators, judges, or ordinary citizens…”
To spotlight this tactic as it is used today, I need only allude to the many instances and stories emanating from the many classrooms that report the use of curriculum portraying our Founders and Framers as bigoted and racist slave owners, rather than the guardians of liberty who struggled during the debates of both the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution over the issue of slavery.
An accurate reading of history includes the fact that Thomas Jefferson had included the abolishment of slavery in the Declaration of Independence only to have it removed after a vicious debate on the subject. It was only removed to facilitate the enlistment of the whole of the colonies in the revolution. Yet, today, Progressive curriculum teaches our children that Jefferson was not only a slave owner, but that he had fathered a child by one of his slaves, Sally Hemings. Today’s history lesson of Mr. Jefferson omits the fact that there were seven Jefferson men with the same DNA at Monticello during the time that Ms. Hemings would have been with child. The lesson also omits, almost in total, any examination of the philosophy held by Mr. Jefferson with regard to humanity, revolution, government or society. Today, Jefferson, instead of being a brilliant visionary and a part of the creation of unique system of government new to all the world, he is a slave owning White man who impregnated a slave.
This singular example of Progressive manipulation established, understood and accepted, one of the most damaging and manipulative tactics used by the Progressive Movement in our education system is the artificially elevated self-esteem of our children. Today, Progressives instill in our children an unearned sense of self-worth; a falsely elevated self-esteem. Teachers and group administrators have been deceived into believing that by manufacturing a faux pride usually reserved for the realization of an achieved success, they can advance the educational capabilities of the child. These useful, albeit in many cases well-meaning, “idiots,” as it were, have taken to eliminating the need to keep score at recreational sporting events, to awarding first prizes to everyone, to making sure “everyone is a winner,” etc.
In reality, depriving a child of “learning how to lose” deprives them – robs them – of the critical lesson of how to learn from their failures – a lesson more valuable than learning how to achieve. And when a child has no skill set that can address failure; no skill set to derive a lesson from the failure so as to turn that failure into a victory, into a learning experience, into a success, what the “system” has created is an angry, frustrated individual possessing an entitlement mindset but who is less the critical thinking tools to affect achievement on an individual level. The Progressive education “system” has been producing individuals who believe they are entitled to everything and responsible for nothing.
When we understand the tactics used by the Progressives to affect a generation of those who they can enslave to entitlement, we can more clearly see just how much damage they have already done.
As British new media columnist John Phelan points out in addressing the riots engulfing the streets of Britain:
“There was always the danger that people on the left would seek to use this unrest as a vehicle for their own pet causes. Ken Livingstone proved again just what an irrelevant lump of 80’s nostalgia he is by blaming, not the current government, but that of Margaret Thatcher. Others have consulted their A-level sociology textbooks and pinned the blame on the rioting youths’ ‘disenfranchisement’ or ‘deprivation.’
“None of this third rate Marxist rubbish holds up if you leave the lecture hall and come face to face with the rioters. It is almost impossible to think of a way these people are disenfranchised. Each and every one of them has the franchise. When they reach 18 they will have the right to vote. They may choose not to use it, but that’s up to them.
“Neither did the rioters I saw look particularly deprived. The closest things they have to uniforms are Franklin & Marshall jumpers, which retail for about £60 each. Most of them were filming their rampages on iPhones which can retail at over £400.
“The poverty these kids have is moral, not financial. Many of them come from broken families which derive most of their support from the state. Neither they, nor their parents, have ever had to face consequences or take responsibility in their lives. If a girl gets pregnant the state pays. If they’d rather pose about like a gangster than get a job, the state pays. And if they commit a crime state punishment is often a joke. So, they behave as they please.”
In one instance a British rioter, admittedly drinking wine at “half nine in the morning” was quoted as saying, “…that’s what it’s all about, showing the police we can do what we want.” Another youthful looter bragged , “We’re getting our taxes back.”
From Birmingham, UK, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Santiago, Chile, the scene plays out the same. Progressives have succeeded in creating a “Dependent Class” out of a generation of intellectually manufactured narcissists, all in the name of “social justice”; all under the wicked institution of social engineering; all at the hand of Socialism. Today, that “Dependent Class” is angry because the utopian promises made by glad-handing Progressive politicians and elitists to create an all providing nanny state has failed at the weight of the cost of those promises…and the world pays the price.
The unrest in the West is not racially motivated. It is not a battle between the “haves” and the “have nots.” It is the result of a reckless experiment in social engineering executed by the power-hungry that used our children as guinea pigs. What we are witnessing is the natural result of a failed Progressive ideology and the intellectual destruction of a generation. What we are witnessing is the result of a true crime against humanity.
Sadly, no court in the world will hold the Progressive monsters accountable for their crimes…because, my friends, Progressives own the courts.

EDITORIAL: Obama’s downgraded America - Washington Times
The Obama administration has made history by presiding over the first-ever downgrade in the U.S. credit rating. President Obama has outdone all his predecessors in wrecking America’s good name. His answer to this problem: Spend even more.
Raising the debt ceiling was sold as a way of guaranteeing the U.S. credit rating. It had the opposite effect, which makes sense to anyone who understands credit. Take a family with a median household income around $50,000. If they spend $85,000 a year and have debt at $300,000 and growing, it’d be foolish to let them borrow more because they don’t have the income to pay it back. Raising the debt ceiling ignored this reality. Then, the Obama administration immediately demonstrated its utter lack of creditworthiness by blowing 60 percent of the initial $400 billion increase in one day, the largest single-day accumulation of debt in U.S. history. Obama Blames Japanese Tsunami and Arab Spring for His Economy
The Democrats take money out of the private sector, they grow the government. There is no way raising taxes on anybody is going to cause economic growth, which will lead to people being hired. Raising taxes takes money out of the economy. It simply does not mathematically work out that that will create economic growth. How can you take money out of the economy and have it grow? It doesn't. Our GDP today is smaller than it was in 2007. It's just another way of illustrating the utter disaster that the Democrat Party is on private sector economics and people who are in the private sector.
And here's another number for you. US, our country, added $239 billion in debt in a single day yesterday. Two-hundred-thirty nine billion in debt in a single day. May I put that in perspective for you? Two-hundred-thirty nine billion in debt in one day is about five times the real cuts scheduled to occur over the next ten years under the bipartisan debt deal. .... http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_080511/content/01125110.guest.html

Marco Rubio: Show Me a Tax Increase that Creates Jobs!
This speech speaks for itself...
Senator Rubio: “Every other problem we face in our country, the housing crisis, all these other problems become easier to deal with if you have more people working, people making money, people paying their taxes, people spending money into the economy. Unemployment is what we have to get at, and you're not going to create jobs by tax increases.
“And if someone in this building, if someone in Washington has a tax increase that creates jobs, I invite you to offer it. We're all ears. Right now. If someone in Washington has a tax increase that helps create jobs, then now is the time to offer it. I would submit to you you're not going to find one because there are no tax increases that will create jobs. And if you don't create jobs and you don't grow this economy, there is no way out of this debt. You cannot cut your way out of it and you certainly can't tax your way out of it. .......

State boards a good place to start cutting
By The Pantagraph Editorial Board | Posted: Friday, June 17, 2011 7:00 am |
We keep hearing from Gov. Pat Quinn and others how much the state's budget has been trimmed and how there's no place to cut without causing harm.
Then we read about the hundreds of boards and commissions the state still has, including about 30 whose members are paid from a few hundred dollars per meeting to six-figure salaries.
But that's not all. Those in paid positions also become eligible for state-supported pensions.
And an analysis by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch found that the more board and commission members are paid, the more they seem to have political connections.
These people are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Senate. But the Senate doesn't seem to be doing a good job of thoroughly evaluating these appointments.
Here are a few examples reported by the Post-Dispatch.
Members of the Human Rights Commission include the daughter of a former state senators, the sister of a former state senators, the wife of an Illinois Supreme Court justice and the head of an abortion-rights lobby group that contributes more than $1 million to state elections -- the vast majority of that going to Democrats.
The Educational Labor Relations Board includes the wife of a state senator, a former Springfield lobbyist, a former legislative staff member and a former governor's aide. These people are paid a salary of $93,936 each.
Even unpaid boards spend money on conferences and other expenses. Many boards duplicate the work of others or have outlived their usefulness.
This is a long-term problem -- a situation that has been exploited by Republicans and Democrats alike.
Often these appointments have allowed lawmakers who lost a race or decided not to run to greatly pad their pensions with a year or so on a board or commission with higher pay than their legislative salaries.
The number of paid boards doubled under former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who had pledged to cut them down to a handful.
By The Pantagraph Editorial Board | Posted: Friday, June 17, 2011 7:00 am |
Quinn has continued the dubious tradition of appointing former lawmakers to these posts -- with the accompanying suspicion that the jobs are traded for votes.
For example, Michael Smith, who lost a re-election bid, was recently named to the Education Labor Relations Board. Quinn also nominated another lawmaker who lost re-election to a paid post, but withdrew the nomination after questions were raised about her switching her vote from "no" to "yes" on the tax hike.
Before we hear any more talk about doomsday cuts, more borrowing and a lack of fat in the budget, Quinn and lawmakers should provide a specific plan for a very significant reduction in the number of boards and commissions.
And for those that remain, any paid positions should be commensurate with the time and effort needed to serve.
