The big difference between Kirk and Giannoulias is Giannoulias is what he claims to be. And Kirk is a Red Rat Republican. He was on WLS radio this morning trying to convince the audience that he is a conservative, I almost wrecked my car.
I understand that there is a movement to bring the Illinois Republican Party back to a party based on conservative commitments rather than 'media' appeasement. I believe to many Republican politicians have listened to the media and moved away from conservatism because they media walked them away from it. Watch the end of August - first of September.
The first order of business for an Illinois Conservative Republican party should be to advise Mr. Kirk he is not being endorsed and if he continues to run he would be on his own. If it comes down to Kirk running against Giannoulias the Democrats keep the seat no matter who wins, the real Democrat or the Democrat in disguise
